DENVER (CBS4) – One of Denver’s busiest streets will be seeing delays for weeks as the city has started a major project on Speer Boulevard.
Denver Public Works began a month-long repaving project on Speer Boulevard on Friday. Crews will be grinding off the top two inches of pavement and will lay down fresh asphalt.
The work on southbound Speer from Grant to Corona will last until June 28. Then northbound construction will run from June 30 to July 13 between Corona and Broadway.
All the work will be taking place during weekdays, so expect lane closures and traffic backups from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
All sidewalks will be open during the project.
