DENVER (CBS4)– The woman accused of stabbing Denver Fire Chief Eric Tade earlier appeared before a judge on Tuesday morning.
Marlene Zacevich-Rodriguez has been charged with attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault.
Zacevich-Rodriguez, 42, stood quietly by her public defender as she was advised of the charges against her. As the judge set her next court appearance he decided there would be no change to her bond. She remains in custody on $100,000 bond.
Her family appeared in court to show their support and while they didn’t want to comment about the case, Zacevich-Rodriguez’s brother told CBS4 that she suffers from schizophrenia.

Tade was attacked and stabbed right outside the Denver Fire Department Headquarters one week ago on Jan. 18. Police say Zacevich-Rodriguez jumped into his unmarked SUV and attacked him.

Tade suffered injuries to his hand and leg but returned to work less than one day later.
According to court records, Zacevich-Rodriguez has a criminal history dating back to the 1990s including arrests for assault, domestic violence and DUI.
